The history
The story of Valgroup's Caps unit began with the identification of an opportunity to serve the beverage and cooking oil markets. From the outset, the operation was built around developing closure solutions that combine technical expertise, quality, and close customer relationships.
By 2019, the unit was already producing caps for cooking oil, along with a strategic project focused on the returnable packaging market.
INVESTMENT
IN TECHNOLOGY
This period marked a significant shift in direction. In response to the opportunities identified, Valgroup chose to focus its efforts on the beverage segment, strengthening its specialization and laying the groundwork for a new phase of growth.
This decision drove improvements in process efficiency, product quality, and the ability to meet the needs of major customers. Over the years, the operation expanded its activities and consolidated its presence in the market.
In 2024, a new development opened up further opportunities for the unit with the integration of a new production structure. The investment complemented the existing technology and enabled the unit to diversify its portfolio, developing solutions for different types of caps and closure systems.
Expansion
Geographic
Throughout this journey, technological advancement has also been closely tied to the pursuit of more efficient and sustainable packaging solutions. Caps that once weighed nearly 3 grams now weigh approximately 1.8 grams, representing a reduction of nearly 35% in material consumption. Achieving this required continuous process improvements, greater precision, and investments in quality and technical support.
This evolution enabled Valgroup to expand its portfolio of solutions for different applications, including single-component and two-component caps for carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, with a range of color and printing options. Automated assembly and inspection processes, along with the development of solutions such as tethered caps, keep pace with market changes and growing demand for circularity.
Operations
distributed
The expansion into Manaus marks another milestone in this journey. Beyond expanding the unit's presence, this move strengthens Valgroup's operations across Brazil's North and Northeast regions, bringing the operation closer to customers and enhancing logistics efficiency.
LOOKING at
THE FUTURE
From the unit's beginnings to its industrial and technological expansion over the past decades, the Caps unit reflects Valgroup's ability to identify opportunities, make strategic decisions, and evolve alongside the market.
