The history
The history of the Retail Packaging unit is directly connected to the origin of Valgroup. It was in Lorena (SP) that the company's first operations emerged, still under the name Valplast, with an initial focus on the production of plastic bags and solutions aimed at the retail sector.
Over the decades, this operation has undergone a significant process of expansion and specialization. From the 1990s onwards, the industrial structure evolved into a more segmented model, with dedicated units and a greater operational focus, allowing for significant gains in efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness.
INVESTMENT
IN TECHNOLOGY
This movement was accompanied by consistent investments in technology. The introduction of more advanced equipment raised the quality standard of operations, expanded production capacity, and allowed for greater efficiency in industrial processes.
With this, the unit expanded its portfolio and began operating in different segments, incorporating solutions such as perforated rolls, garbage bags, and industrial applications geared towards retail and distribution.
Expansion
Geographic
Geographic expansion was also fundamental to this trajectory. Part of the operation was directed to southern Minas Gerais, with units in Itamonte and Passa Quatro, while another portion of production was transferred to Manaus, strengthening the company's industrial structure and expanding its service capacity in different regions of the country.
At the same time that the company was evolving internally, the market was also undergoing profound transformations.
Operations
distributed
Even with these changes, the essence of the operation has remained the same. The culture built since the early years continues to be present in the daily lives of the units, reflected in the close relationships with the teams, the constant pursuit of improvement, and the ability to adapt over time.
Today, the unit operates in an even more structured and specialized manner, with operations strategically distributed between Manaus, Passa Quatro, and Itamonte. This organization allows for greater productive efficiency, logistical optimization, and flexibility to meet different market demands.
LOOKING at
THE FUTURE
Looking to the future, Valgroup continues to invest in solutions that combine operational efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability. The development of more efficient products, coupled with the expansion of recycling and circular economy initiatives, reinforces the company's commitment to the evolution of the sector and to building increasingly responsible solutions for society.
More than just keeping up with market transformations, this trajectory represents the continuous ability to evolve, adapt, and build solutions aligned with the needs of each generation of customers.
