The history
Founded in 1995, Valgroup's Laminates division marked a defining step in the company's technological evolution, expanding its reach into higher-value flexible packaging solutions.
At the time, Valgroup was already well established in the production of stretch films and printed industrial films, a position built on strategic vision and deep market knowledge that proved decisive in identifying this new growth opportunity. Until then, the company's core business had been printing polyethylene packaging for applications such as milk, sugar, wheat, and grocery bags.
INVESTMENT
IN TECHNOLOGY
It was from this insight that the investment in lamination emerged. More than simply meeting a specific demand, this decision represented a strategic opportunity to position Valgroup in a segment marked by greater technical complexity and higher added value.
From the start, developing the division required a steep learning curve. The team had to build expertise in lamination processes, ink behavior, adhesion between different substrates, and quality control of the structures produced. Every new project called for tailored solutions, continually raising the operation's level of technical expertise.
Expansion
Geographic
This technological evolution was continuous. A key milestone came in 2010, with the implementation of a solvent recovery unit. Pioneering in Latin America, this technology recovered approximately 98% of all solvent used in the production process, significantly reducing atmospheric emissions and delivering major environmental and economic gains.
Over the years, the division continuously expanded its production capacity with new rotogravure and flexographic printing equipment, keeping pace with evolving market needs and broadening its portfolio of solutions.
Operations
distributed
This combination of investments established Valgroup as one of Brazil's leading laminate companies, bringing together technology, production capacity, and technical expertise to serve increasingly complex applications.
Valgroup was among the first companies in Brazil to implement heptachrome technology in flexographic printing, significantly enhancing print quality and color fidelity in packaging.
LOOKING at
THE FUTURE
In 2025, Valgroup took this evolution a step further with the launch of a highly automated cylinder plant, equipped with rigorous quality controls, further boosting printing performance and efficiency across the entire operation.
Today, the Laminates operation stands as one of the industry's leading references in Brazil, reflecting a journey built on continuous investment in technology, people development, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence.
