The history
The history of Valgroup's Industrial Films division is defined by a relentless pursuit of solutions that meet the evolving demands of industry and logistics. From the very beginning, the division was built to develop products that bring operational efficiency, competitiveness, and innovation to customers' processes.
The first step of this journey took place in 1988, in Lorena, State of São Paulo, with the launch of collation shrink production. At that time, the market relied heavily on rigid boxes for product unitization, particularly in the beverage segment. It was a high-cost solution with limited flexibility and poor logistical efficiency. The collation shrink emerged as a more modern, cost-effective, and efficient alternative.
INVESTMENT
IN TECHNOLOGY
Just a few years later, in 1991, also in Lorena, Valgroup expanded its reach into the Stretch film market. The main challenge was to ensure greater stability and security for palletized loads during transport, delivering a more efficient and competitive solution to the industry.
And so, a new business frontier was born — one built on principles that remain at the company's core to this day: customer closeness, real-world problem-solving, operational efficiency, and competitiveness.
Expansion
Geographic
A pivotal expansion cycle was set in motion as these operations became firmly established. In the early 2000s, production capacity expanded with new operations in Camaçari (State of Bahia), Itamonte (State of Minas Gerais), and Manaus (State of Amazonas), strengthening Valgroup's national presence and bringing production closer to the country's key consumer markets.
Throughout this journey, the pioneering spirit became one of the division's defining traits. This spirit has driven the development of new products, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and industrial processes, and strategic expansion decisions.
Valgroup was a pioneer in bringing multilayer technology to collation shrink, driving greater competitiveness through optimized formulations. It also developed high-gloss shrink solutions, adding a new layer of differentiation to customers' products.
Operations
distributed
In the stretch film segment, Valgroup introduced technologies such as a flat die, significantly boosting production efficiency and reducing costs. Valgroup was also among the pioneers in developing pre-stretched and coreless stretch film for manual application, contributing to reduced material consumption, a lower environmental footprint, and improved ergonomic conditions for users.
This blend of innovation, technology, and strategic vision has allowed the company to keep pace with industry shifts and, more than that, to shape its evolution actively, leading key market movements and developing solutions geared toward competitiveness, logistical efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability.
LOOKING at
THE FUTURE
Strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry partners were built over time, solidifying the company's position as a reference in the segment.
Looking ahead, the division carries forward the same pioneering spirit that has defined its history. One of the most recent expressions of this calling is the investment in Nano101 technology, making Valgroup the first company in the world to implement a 101-nanolayer solution for stretch films. This innovation marks a new technological leap for the industry, reinforcing the company's commitment to continuously developing ever more efficient, sustainable, and competitive solutions for the global market.
